Terry Bowden coached Takeo Spikes at Auburn but says Janoris Jenkins, who was booted from the Gators before the season, is even better
Terry Bowden says Janoris Jenkins – the former Florida Gators star cornerback – is the best player he’s ever coached and that includes NFL linebacker Takeo Spikes, whom he coached at Auburn.
Bowden, the former Auburn coach, national college football analyst, Orlando radio personality and now the head coach at No. 1-ranked Division II North Alabama, was on our radio show earlier this week and talked about Jenkins, the former Gator who was kicked off the team by new coach Will Muschamp before the season.
Bowden says Jenkins, a potential No. 1 draft choice, made some “dumb, bozo” moves when he was arrested multiple times for marijuana use while he was at UF, but says he has been a model citizen and superstar player at UNA. Bowden also commented on the recent struggles of the two men he gave a start in the coaching profession — Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher and Florida’s Will Muschamp.
